Managing Myself – Personal Effectiveness
The aim of this course is to get office-based staff to manage themselves as a resource, both in terms of work and indeed their personal life. The course helps participants define the results they want to achieve and what activities will help them do so. As a result they will develop a deeper understanding on what they should be spending time on in the context of work and home. The course explores the attitudes required to become a higher performer:
- Taking responsibility and control
- Developing win - win attitudes in relationships at work
- Listening to understand, as opposed to being understood.
- The power of positive attitude
- Developing the habits that lead to great time management
- Controlling stress

- The characteristics of ‘peak performers’
- Put first things first, prioritising your tasks for higher performance
- How the brain functions best and applying this to yourself
- The psychology of goal setting
- Using better self-talk to improve energy and attitude
- Developing overview and control
- Effective use of diaries and organisers
- Techniques for reducing stress
- Paperwork and the desk
- Managing the electronic office.
