Managing Myself – Personal Effectiveness

The aim of this course is to get office-based staff to manage themselves as a resource, both in terms of work and indeed their personal life. The course helps participants define the results they want to achieve and what activities will help them do so. As a result they will develop a deeper understanding on what they should be spending time on in the context of work and home. The course explores the attitudes required to become a higher performer:

  1. Taking responsibility and control
  2. Developing win - win attitudes in relationships at work
  3. Listening to understand, as opposed to being understood.
  4. The power of positive attitude
  5. Developing the habits that lead to great time management
  6. Controlling stress

  1. The characteristics of ‘peak performers’
  2. Put first things first, prioritising your tasks for higher performance
  3. How the brain functions best and applying this to yourself
  4. The psychology of goal setting
  5. Using better self-talk to improve energy and attitude
  6. Developing overview and control
  7. Effective use of diaries and organisers
  8. Techniques for reducing stress
  9. Paperwork and the desk
  10. Managing the electronic office.
